Birmingham is the UK’s seventh-busiest airport based on 2024 passenger data. In 2025, five more destinations will join its network: Gibraltar, Jerez, Milan Linate, Sibiu and Tallinn.

Jerez, Milan, Sibiu and Tallinn are new to Birmingham’s map. In contrast, Gibraltar last had flights in 2021, when Eastern Airways briefly operated. Regular service was provided by Monarch between 2013 and 2017.

Sibiu’s first Birmingham flight will begin in late October, just after northern airlines switch to winter schedules. It will be one of three Romanian cities served from the West Midlands airport, joining Bucharest Otopeni and Craiova.

While Wizz Air fly from Sibiu and Craiova, Wizz Air and Ryanair fly from Bucharest. Birmingham will have 19 weekly departures to Romania, nearly double that available last winter.

  • 31 March: Milan Linate, easyJet, 2 weekly

  • 2 May: Jerez, Jet2, weekly

  • 1 June: Gibraltar, easyJet, 2 weekly

  • 28 October: Sibiu, Wizz Air, 2 weekly

  • 28 November: Tallinn, Jet2, 2 weekly

Weekly services are provided by Jet2 (88 weekly), Ryanair (86), TUI (40), easyJet (23) and Vueling (daily). With 47 weekly flights, Palma de Mallorca is Birmingham’s most popular Spanish destination. However, it ranks second across its full network, behind Dublin (85 weekly).
